What courses do you offer at Anthem Music Academy?

We currently offer: Music Production in Ableton Live or Logic Pro, Live DJing, Mixing & Mastering, and Studio Engineering. Other courses available semi-regularly include Sound Design & Synthesis, Rhythm & Beats Production, Music Fundamentals, and Home Studio Recording.

Do I need any prior experience to enroll?

No experience is required. All of our courses are beginner-friendly and we teach you how to make music from scratch. The Mixing and Mastering course is slightly more advanced, so we recommend completing one of our Music Production courses first unless you already have production experience.

Question 3

Which DAW should I choose — Ableton Live or Logic Pro?

Accepted Answer

Both DAWs offer similar features with minor differences. We recommend researching both on YouTube and choosing the one that feels more intuitive and visually comfortable to you. If you’re unsure, our team can guide you.

Question 4

Can I try a class before enrolling?

We currently don’t offer trial classes. However, you’re welcome to visit our studio and meet the instructors before enrolling to get a feel for the environment.

Are your classes online or in-person?

All our flagship courses are taught in-person at our Emeryville campus inside The Grill Studios. Some supplementary content is available online for enrolled students.

What equipment do I need to get started?

You only need yourself — and headphones if you have them. We provide the studios, computers, and gear during class. For at-home practice, we’ll recommend gear that fits your goals and budget.

Can I switch between DAWs after I start the course?

You can enroll in the alternate DAW course later, but we recommend committing to one DAW per cohort to build deeper skills.

Do you offer payment plans or financial aid?

Yes — we offer monthly and bi-weekly payment plans. Reach out to our admissions team for the current options.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a full refund up to a week before the first class session. After classes start, refunds are pro-rated based on attendance. Full policy is in our Student Terms.

Are there any age restrictions to enroll?

Our adult cohorts are open to anyone 18+. Younger students are welcome with parent/guardian consent — contact us first.

Do you offer one-on-one mentorship or personalized feedback?

Yes — our Anthem Program includes 1-on-1 mentorship hours plus group classes over 6–9 months. Short-course students also receive feedback from instructors during class.

Are there community or networking opportunities?

Absolutely. We host weekly and monthly events at the studio, run a Discord server, and connect students with the wider Bay Area music scene.

Do I receive a certificate upon completion?

Yes — every student who completes a course receives a certificate of completion.

How do I schedule my free 3-hour private lesson?

After enrolling, you’ll get an email link to book your private lesson on our scheduling site.

What happens if I miss my scheduled private lesson?

Reach out to admissions at least 24 hours ahead to reschedule. Same-day cancellations forfeit the hours booked.

What if I miss a class session?

Each course has a make-up policy — typically you can attend the same lesson with a different cohort. Talk to your instructor.

How do I access the student dashboard?

After enrolling you’ll receive an invite to students.anthemmusicacademy.com. Sign in with the email you registered with.

My student dashboard says I have a balance due, but I just paid it!

Accepted Answer

Payments take up to 1 business day to reflect in the dashboard. If it’s still showing after 48 hours, contact admissions and we’ll fix it.
