A genre-bending DJ and producer, rooted in a profound respect for the history of the genres that inspire her and the creators who came before her.
Originally from Elgin, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. Growing up, music was my best friend. I would sing Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill, trying to embody their greatness. As my ear developed I would dig for tracks on LimeWire, trying to find sounds I had never heard.
I went on to play piano and some trumpet in band. Life took a few spins and I found myself buying a one-way ticket to Oakland at 20 years old, never looking back. What I found here was a community of DJs, and inevitably I learned how to mix music too.
I've always felt like an underdog or a loner in this world, and these spaces gave me something I had only felt a couple of other times in my life: family, and a sense of community. In the past year I decided to finally invest in my own ability to create music, and that is how I found Anthem Music Academy.
Taking the intro to Ableton class fast-tracked me into creation. I was able to use all of the inspiration I've piled up along the way and realize it in the form of music, and for that I am very grateful.
