The Youth DJ Course meets at Soul Graffiti on San Pablo Ave in Emeryville, on the Oakland border, a short drive or bus ride from most of the East Bay. Families bring their teens from Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward, Richmond, and Walnut Creek. What ages are your youth DJ classes for?
Students ages 13 to 17. It is a teen course, so your student learns alongside people their own age.
Does my teen need any DJ experience?
No. The course starts from the beginning and assumes no prior DJ experience. Students learn on real equipment in the room with an instructor beside them.
Where are the classes located?
In person at Soul Graffiti, 6323 San Pablo Ave in Emeryville, CA, right on the Oakland border. Families come from across the East Bay: Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward, Richmond, and Walnut Creek. No sessions are online.
What equipment does my student need?
A laptop, headphones, a DDJ-FLX2 or DDJ-FLX4 controller, and Serato. The free Serato DJ Lite works for the course. If you are unsure about anything, ask us before buying anything.
How much do the classes cost?
Tuition is $1,350, or 3 monthly payments of $485. Refer another student and you each get $100 off.
What happens after the eight weeks?
Students who want to keep going can move onto our continued mentorship path. We talk through it with you near the end of the course.
